Xanga ate my dang post again...I've tried on several occassions now to write a new post, but good 'ol Xanga keeps sending my post into lala land...gah! Maybe I'll try to write a new longer post tomorrow...not likely, but maybe!
Anyways, house is great, dog is great--going to have a house-full of people for Thanksgiving, YAY!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone...

sooo....big news...we're buying a house! Yes, that's right, a house...a place to call our own! The sellers accepted our counter offer this morning, and that's hella good news! It's a really cute little bungalow in Lebanon, the pictures online do not even do it justice. The entire kitchen is brand-new--cabinets, sink, appliances, the works...so exciting!

So today I've been calling around to get quotes on homeowners insurance--not so exciting, lol. But ahh well. This 100-yr flood plain business is for the birds though. We will have to pay flood insurance even though it's never flooded...go figure...

Our closing date is currently set for May 23, with possession on the 26th. Should prove to be a majorly exciting few weeks! Make that a majorly crammed few weeks...

Well, that's all I've got to say right now because I need to take care of a few more things around here, but I just thought I'd let ya'll know!

Yeah, it's been a very long time since I've updated this thing, but things have been kinda weird--too many balls in the air as far as unknowns. A few of them have tumbled from the sky, but I ended up tossing another one up there, so I'm still in a "we'll see" mode.

I started classes again this spring in order to keep my loans in deferment since I couldn't find a job. Because of that, I was able to learn about the Health Comm program though, which is actually pretty cool. As most of you know, I had been planning on going to Clemson to get my Masters, but it would be awhile before I could go since we aren't exactly ready to pack up everything and move to South Carolina. Additionally, I learned yesterday that there is also a Masters in Regulatory and Quality Compliance for the pharmaceutical industry. This program is only offered as weekend courses, which would be much easier for me to get a dual degree! Yay! So, I'm in the process of applying to grad school, albeit a little late, but better late than never I guess. My GREs are set for Feb. 20th, so that should be a day of excitement---or not...
So I'm pretty grateful that I came back, even though it is some work.

Eli Lilly called me back randomly about 3 weeks ago to say that they were interested in me for the job that I applied for about 3 months ago. Pretty cool eh? I set up my phone interview with the lady, and she never calls...a little strange, but I heard that they can take awhile. Well, yesterday evening, the Lilly lady e-mailed me to say that due to budgeting, the three posted positions, all for the same job but in different locations, were cut. So, while that ball fell, the RQC one went up, which sounds really nice. I'm actually pretty excited about this prospect However, the one trick will be housing. I want to live closer to Lebanon for Charles' sake, and to save on gas. With that comes the problem of finding not only a good house, but a good landlord. The Colfax area would be ideal--splitting the distance between Lebanon and Lafayette. I guess time will tell with this...but I just want to know! I guess this is Someone's way of telling me that I need more patience. I know everything will work out eventually, but darn it, I want to know now!

Not much else going on in my life other than trying to decide just what I'm going to be doing in the fall...yay rah...At least I've not got it as bad as some, things could always be worse!

Well, it's hard to believe, but I had my last college class as an undergraduate today. It's kinda bizarre, really. My great aunt and uncle are coming down for my graduation, so that's exciting! I'm having a Christmas/Graduation dinner on Friday for my friends that are still down here, and some who will hopefully come to visit! I'm really excited about trying to get everyone together, I just hope people show up.

I'm still trying to find a job, and I'm not really having any luck. No one seems to be hiring entry level medical writers right now. I've applied to 6 jobs so far, and have only heard anything back from one, and that was a reject as soon as I submitted my app online. Major suck...I'm going to have to find something soon as I'm definitely running out of money. I'm going to end up whoring myself out to the retail stores at the rate I'm going. Ahh well. If anyone hears of anything good, please let me know.

As for other news, the neurologist ran a cranial MRI of my mom, and supposedly they could tell that she doesn't have MS from that. Perosnally I think it's a load of crap, because MS is basically an elimination game of other issues. We do know that she definitely does not have a Vitamin B12 deficiency, although she is on the low spectrum of B12 concentrations. Just be a lot better if we knew what was cuasing her problems, even if there isn't a cure for it.

My dog has been going crazy with the snow. I wish I had a digital camera to take pictures of him. He's such a hoot! He'll go out to the snow bank and stick his head in it up to his collar, like an ostrich! He also sticks his nose on the surface, then turns in circles among other things...it's hilarious. Somone should get me a camcorder for Christmas so I can take video of him, lol.

Speaking of snow, I really wish that people down here knew how to handle snow. Back home, it's no big deal, but here, people are completely different. It gets frustrating. Ahh well. I think it's kind of ironic though that the boots I bought my freshman year during the big snow storm, I never used again until today, my last day ever of classes in the snow! Yeah, whole lotta use those things have gotten...

Well, I guess that's all I've got for now!

Last week, my mom and I had a 2 and a half hour phone conversation--a little out of the ordinary for us. She found out last Wednesday that her neurologist wants to run tests for Vitamin B12 Deficiency and Multiple Sclerosis. She starts testing tomorrow, and I'd appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Kinda scary.

Also, Charles and I don't know if we're going to be able to even make it home now. Our truck is still in the shop, and the car has been acting weird lately (not to mention the tires are bald and it's supposed to be snowing ). We're really hoping that the new oil pan comes in tomorrow for the truck, and that the shop can get it all put back together. Otherwise, we may be stranded here for Thanksgiving.

My grandma supposedly left for Florida on Saturday. Less than 6 weeks post-op of hip replacement, she's not supposed to be getting in and out of anything but a car. However, the doctors finally got tired of her telling them that she's able to do anything she wants to, and they gave up on giving her limitations and therapy. She left with my darling aunt and uncle, who moved her into an unfit home for three days so they can raze her old house this winter, in her van. This is the same aunt and uncle that took her to buy TREES three weeks post-op in their TRUCK. So, she will most likely walk with a limp for the rest of her life, which she will blame on the surgeon, when she really has no one to blame but herself and my retarded aunt an uncle. As for the heart condition, she says there's nothing wrong with her, and she threw the cardiologist out of her room in the hospital. Aren't old people and extended family great? GGRRR

I've spent today cleaning and organizing, doing laundry, as well as wrapping Christmas presents. I LOVE Christmas-time! We're getting our tree this weekend so long as we get the truck back and can go home. Yay for fresh-cut Christmas trees from Daddy Joe! We've gotten our Christmas tree from the same place every year since I can remember, at the same price too! I'm really hoping that Bets and Rach and I can get together--we need to spend some time together.

Well, I guess that's all I've got for now, again, please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers.
